We are just people who are on Reddit too much.

That is genuinely the whole advantage. We use the site every day, so we know how it feels when a brand gets it wrong.

Where this came from

Karmium is new, and we are small. There is no floor of account managers here, and we are not going to pretend otherwise with a page full of numbers.

What we do have is a lot of hours on Reddit. We have watched the same thing happen over and over: a brand shows up with a campaign that clearly worked somewhere else, the tone is slightly wrong, and the top comment is somebody explaining exactly why. Nobody at that company was a Reddit user, so nobody saw it coming.

That is the gap we work in. We are not smarter than your marketing team, we just already speak the language, because we have been reading these communities for years for our own entertainment. Knowing which subreddit will tolerate a promoted post, which mods answer their messages, and which joke has been done to death is not a strategy framework. It is familiarity, and it is very hard to get from the outside.

So we keep the client list short enough that we can actually be in the threads. If we ever get too big for that, the thing that makes this work is gone.

A few things we believe

You cannot fake being a regular

People can tell when a brand has never used the site. The tone is off, the references are wrong, and the comments will say so within the hour.

The comments are the campaign

Most agencies ship the ad and move on. On Reddit the thread underneath decides whether it worked, so somebody has to be there reading it.

Every subreddit is its own country

What gets upvoted in one gets you removed in another. There is no single Reddit voice to copy, which is why the research comes before the creative.

We will tell you if it is a bad idea

Some brands have no business on Reddit, and some threads are better left alone. Saying so costs us work occasionally, and it is still the right call.

Founder

Javier has been on Reddit for years, mostly lurking, occasionally arguing about things that do not matter. He also works in marketing. Karmium is what happened when those two stopped being separate hobbies. He runs everything here, so the person reading your subreddits is the same one answering your emails.
